Human Resources Generalist

We are excited to announce that we are adding another role to our HR Team!  We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist who will work in conjunction with the HR team to support employees throughout the employment lifecycle.   The focus areas will include fostering positive employee relations, employee communications, manager coaching, and performance management.

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Coaching managers on effective performance management techniques including how to provide effective feedback, goal setting and the performance review process.
  • Train/coach managers on best practices related to communication, team building, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with managers to foster effective rewards and recognition program for employees.
  • Responsible for, manages and makes recommendations relative to employee requests for accommodations ensuring compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • First point of contact for employees to report concerns.
    • Work with employees and managers to resolve simple matters immediately.
    • Conduct/facilitate employee mediations.
    • Assist with investigations and other complex employee relation matters.
  • Provide respectful workplace training during new hire orientation and for existing teams as needed.
  • Responsible to coordinate and oversee the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEI) Committee, including implementing agreed upon initiatives.
  • Assist with HR related employee communications.
  • Conduct exit interviews with all exiting employees.
  • Collect, compile and report on exit data.

Skills and Abilities required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to human resources.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education &/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Three -Five years of experience in human resources or related field.
  • ADA knowledge.
  • PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

This is a fulltime, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week position, generally 8 hours per day.   Weekend and evening hours may be needed for special projects or events.   This position will report to the Vice President of Human Resources.
