Services to Help Your Child Reach Their Potential
Our collaborative team of experts delivers individually-tailored services to children and families with a variety of needs. These services are provided where they are needed most, through the Spaulding Academy & Family Services School, residential program, clinical services, community-based services and foster care programs. Each day, we strive to provide meaningful experiences to the individuals we serve with the goal of increasing skills for independence and active learning across the lifespan. Beyond our campus, we partner with outside members of each child’s support team to ensure their progress is lasting. The Spaulding Academy & Family Services community actively balances a focus on each child’s right to a childhood, while working to ensure that children and families have the skills to enjoy a bright future.
Programs
While each treatment program is unique to the child, our programs are broadly divided into four categories:

We believe that all students belong in their home community. We strive to prepare students for return to a less restrictive environment and therefore our classrooms reflect general education requirements and design.
Clinical ServicesLearn More
Our Clinical Services philosophy encompasses the following beliefs:
- Each child wants to do his or her best.
- Within each child is the capacity to heal from traumatizing and disrupting experiences.
- Significant change can be achieved when all components of the environment work together (e.g., school, home, community) to create consistency for the child.
- Children benefit most from highly-skilled treatment rooted in evidence-based practice.

ResidentialLearn More
Spaulding Academy & Family Services’ Residential Program offers a cottage-based nurturing community which fosters the fundamental philosophies of a family unit. As part of our ‘one community’ philosophy, we promote interaction and collaboration between residences.
Children learn and grow best in a warm, nurturing and safe environment. At Spaulding Academy & Family Services, our cottages mirror a typical home environment so that students are free to learn, explore and simply be children.
Experiential Challenges OutdoorsLearn More
In the heart of the Experiential Challenges Outdoors (EChO) program is the belief that every student should have the opportunity for the kind of growth that comes from real adventure.
Through EChO, our classroom is New Hampshire’s mountains, forests, lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, marshes and Spaulding Academy & Family Services’ over 500 acre campus. With carefully-planned and designed activities as well as cutting-edge adaptive equipment and techniques, our students learn to embrace challenges and take positive risks in a variety of outside activities.
