This spring is already shaping up to be a busy one for students and staff alike on our campus, and as the flowers begin to bloom around us, so do they! Keep reading to learn about the impressive accomplishments and exciting happenings taking place at Spaulding this month.
Last month, our President and Director of Special Education, Garrett Lavallee, traveled to Baltimore to attend an international conference for Special Educators. Spaulding Academy was in the spotlight as Garrett presented to more than 4,000 Special Educators from around the world and spoke on the importance of a person-centered approach to supporting staff and students.
Back home on campus, a similar scene unfolded in our conference room as a brave student presented to our board of directors, sharing her progress and journey at Spaulding. We are incredibly proud of both Garrett and our student for demonstrating an essential component of the Choose Love formula: Courage!
HELP OUR STUDENTS ENJOY ALL THE GLITZ AND GLAMOUR OF PROM…
Our students have eagerly been counting down the days to prom and couldn’t be more excited to experience the rock-and-roll-themed night they helped curate. To send our students off in style, we are looking to our community to help outfit them in glitz and glam! We will be accepting donations of prom attire (plus sizes especially needed), makeup and hair products/tools until Friday, May 23. Please reach out to donate@spauldingservices.com if you would like to donate. Thank you!
THANK YOU, FOSTER FAMILIES!
Every May, we celebrate Foster Care Appreciation Month and the wonderful foster families that provide loving, safe homes for children. We truly would not be able to do what we do without them. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, foster families, for all you do and for helping us to fulfill our belief that every child deserves a childhood.
Foster care can be a transformative and rewarding journey for both the child in care and the entire family. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a foster parent, we encourage you to visit our website.
