Welcome letter
Dear Friends of Spaulding Academy & Family Services,
The exceptional children we serve each day are at the center of everything that happens at Spaulding Academy & Family Services. From across the state and many different walks of life, they come to us with a range of needs — academic or emotional support, a safe place to live, a listening ear, a trusted adult. Our children are the heart and soul of our campus, and they are the reason behind all that we do.
If the children are our “why,” our incredible staff is the “how.” The immense talent and steadfast dedication of our Spaulding team allow us to advance our mission. It is the collaborative spirit with which we approach our work that ensures that every student receives the wraparound care necessary to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Spaulding enjoys strong relationships with our community partners — state agencies such as the Departments of Education and Health and Human Services, first responders, local businesses and devoted supporters. Together, we share a powerful sense of connection and a shared purpose that exemplifies the Spaulding spirit and drives even greater outcomes for our children.
We revel in the successes of the past year. This year we have:
- Received a three-year CARF reaccreditation in the Residential Program, and a five-year Academic Program Approval, with 100% compliance, from the New Hampshire Department of Education
- Launched a pilot Comprehensive Foster Care Program, designed to increase independence for youth and ease the transition from residential care to adult services
- Purchased a new building in Tilton to enable the Community-Based Services team to better serve children and families with resources in the community
- Presented at and attended industry conferences, published the Spaulding Limitless Learning podcast, participated in an adaptive ski program for students, welcomed a new member of our team, Millie the therapy dog, and so much more!
It has certainly been a busy year — one in which we’ve seen firsthand the power and possibility of our extraordinary community.
To our generous donors, thank you. Through your support of Spaulding’s mission, you directly help us provide our children with positive and enriching childhood experiences. As we navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead, we will continue to invest in the people and places that make this work meaningful. I look forward to celebrating even greater shared accomplishments with you in the year to come.
Thank you,

Meaghan Emmons,
President & CEO
