Last month, students and staff laced up their sneakers and took to our gym’s basketball court to compete in our first-ever Student vs. Staff Basketball Game!

This exciting event was full of friendly competition as the packed audience, made up of students, staff, family and friends, enjoyed popcorn and cheered both teams on. However, it was no surprise that all in attendance were thrilled when the brand-new scoreboard displayed a 53-51 student victory.

We look forward to hosting more events like this one that give our students and staff a chance to connect and compete while building confidence, resilience and community. Way to go, team!

On our campus, the end of the school day does not mean the end of learning and fun for many of our students who participate in after-school activities.

Hosted by the Spaulding Behaviorists, these events provide a meaningful opportunity for students and staff from different cottages to come together, build connections and participate in a variety of engaging experiences.

This year, students have enjoyed a range of creative and seasonal activities, including designing ski-jumping rockets made of straws to celebrate the Olympics, creating leprechauns in a step-by-step drawing lesson, and making personalized trail mix. Each activity is designed to be both enjoyable and developmentally supportive.

To promote success and participation, a visual schedule guides students and staff through the sequence of activities. For more complex tasks, task analyses are available to provide additional structure and clarity. The team remains committed to adapting each activity to meet the diverse needs of participants, ensuring that all students and staff feel supported and successful.
