Holidays at Spaulding are a cherished time for all on our campus, as we come together to celebrate and create priceless memories, rooted in connection, tradition and belonging. The laughs, smiles and moments shared during this time of year carry well into the months that follow, reinforcing a sense of community and shaping the culture our students and staff experience year-round. Enjoy a look inside some of our favorite traditions, moments and memories from this holiday season.
The season began with a spooky start, as our students partook in many classic Halloween activities — they even helped to decorate campus with handpainted pumpkins. Our campus-wide trick or treating event was eagerly anticipated, as staff and students alike dressed up and went building to building collecting treats from each department.
A week before Thanksgiving, our campus came together as one and invited more than 250 guests to enjoy an afternoon filled with gratitude, friendship and a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. Our Food Services Team went above and beyond, as they prepared and served the meal to all in attendance — in total, 15 turkeys were carved and served, as well as 96 pounds of mashed potatoes! While the food received many rave reviews, our student helpers stole the show as they excitedly welcomed guests, cleared plates and passed out hand-cut “turkey feathers,” inviting all who joined to share the things they are thankful for.
Shortly after our Thanksgiving celebration, the first snow dusted our campus, getting us in the Christmas spirit. Everyone excitedly awaited the annual Holiday Party, all hoping for a visit from Santa! Everyone was on the “nice list” this year, and Santa joined us on December 10 to pass out presents and take part in the holiday festivities. Later this week, our staff will celebrate together at our annual Staff Holiday Party. Our Food Services Team is already busy at work preparing a spread of festive treats!
